Effective immediately, all applicants seeking to obtain Vanuatu citizenship through the program will be required to provide their biometric data, including fingerprints and facial recognition, as part of the application process.

This new requirement is aimed at strengthening the program’s due diligence procedures and ensuring that only reputable individuals are granted citizenship. The government has emphasized that the biometric data will be stored securely and in accordance with international standards.

The biometric data collection takes place in the following locations:

– consular office of Vanuatu in Hong Kong;

– consular office of Vanuatu in New Caledonia;

– consular office of Vanuatu in Dubai; and

– passport office in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

The Capital Immigration Investment Plan is temporarily put on hold.

The government of Vanuatu works on amendments for the current CIIP investment route. It is expected that the new CIIP regulation will be released to the public by the end of March.

The CIIP applications that were submitted before the 13th of March are not affected and will be processed in the usual order.
