In a move to enhance national security and improve the efficiency of its borders, the government of St. Kitts and Nevis has announced plans to introduce an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system in mid-2025.
The ETA system will require nationals from countries having a visa-free access to the island, to obtain an electronic authorization prior to their arrival in St. Kitts and Nevis. This system aims to:
- Improve the speed and efficiency of immigration processing
- Enhance national security by allowing for advance screening of travelers
- Reduce wait times at ports of entry
The ETA system is expected to be launched by July 2025, with further details on the implementation process and requirements to be announced in the coming months.
The introduction of the ETA system is not expected to affect the country’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, which remains a popular route to obtaining citizenship in St. Kitts and Nevis.
